Everything goes exactly by the book. One leaves a 5-star Google review. The other gives you 3 stars. The business owner doesn\u2019t understand. He reviews the entire process, but can\u2019t find anything that explains the difference.<\/p>\n<h2>It\u2019s not about what you do<\/h2>\n<p>He decides to call anyway.<br \/>\n\u201cOh,\u201d says the customer, \u201cnothing really went wrong. But I expected someone to call me back when I had a question. That didn\u2019t happen, so I felt like you just process everything and don\u2019t really care beyond that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One missed callback. No mistake in the process, but a dent in the feeling.<\/p>\n<h2>Expectations are invisible<\/h2>\n<p>Customers don\u2019t judge you on what you do. They judge you on how you made them feel. And that feeling is often shaped by expectations you don\u2019t even know exist.<\/p>\n<p>The other customer \u2014 the one who gave a 9? She expected delivery to take a week. It arrived in three days. Same performance. Different expectation. Different score.<\/p>\n<h2>What does this mean for you?<\/h2>\n<p>Your process can be flawless and still fall short. Not because you did something wrong, but because you don\u2019t know how it was experienced.<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s only one way to find out: ask. At the moment it matters. When the experience is still fresh.<\/p>\n<p>So yes, make sure your process is solid.
