NPS on vacation
Do you ever have that feeling, that you cannot leave your work completely at home during the holiday period?
Unfortunately, I am guilty of this. The NPS® philosophy in particular unintentionally travels with me. It doesn’t go down very well at home, but if your work is your hobby (or vice versa), it doesn’t really matter, right?
As is often the case on vacations, we regularly visit local restaurants. We like variety and don’t often eat twice at the same place.
And after every visit, I unconsciously ask myself these questions: “Am I excited?” And “Would I recommend this restaurant to family or friends?” It is shocking to see how often I have to answer ‘No’ to these questions. I find this sad, because it means that I will not send anyone here or come back again myself. And I will make sure to spend my money elsewhere in future.
That is why I am even more convinced that it is so important to give guests a positive experience. Just going that extra step, ensuring that the guest has an enthusiastic feeling about their visit – that investment really is worthwhile. Enthusiastic guests are responsible for extra spending and for encouraging other holiday guests, who may not previously know about the restaurant, to visit it. This is an opportunity that should not be wasted.
Sometimes there is a pearl among all the restaurants you visit – one that puts a big smile on your face. An attractive terrace, a nice menu, good food, and above all timely and enthusiastic service. Everything is just right. Restaurants such as these give you the “Lebbis experience”. They just make you happy.
As you can imagine, we have eaten here more than once.
